As a child, Amanda Austin used to sneak out of bed past her bedtime to watch Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Late Night may be long gone, but Austin is still a fan. She was excited to learn that the famous funnyman will be filming his eponymous live show in Dallas’ Majestic Theater from March 31 to April 3 during the Final Four.

Now, Austin, who owns the Dallas Comedy House Theater, has somehow managed to snag the writers of the TV show to perform next Tuesday.

“I have some connections with writers in LA,” she said. “I’d been asking around, and a friend put me in touch with the Conan writers.”

After exchanging Facebook messages for six weeks, the deal was finalized and announced last week. The first show sold out in a mere four hours, and fans began demanding another opportunity to attend the Deep Ellum event. Austin and the Conan writers were happy to oblige and schedule an encore performance—which was sold out in half the time.

Performing will be Josh Comers, Dan Cronin, Andres duBochet, Brian Kiley, Laurie Kilmartin, and Rob Kutner. Austin also hints that there’s the chance another performer or two could still attend.

“We’re all going to be surprised at what these guys do,” Austin said. “They’ve been talking to the tech department here about AV specifications—it’ll probably be a lot more than just a standup show. Our venue is very supportive of creative comedy.”

For those who just can’t miss this, the standby line opens up an hour before the show starts. Doors for the first show open at 7 p.m., and if you get there early enough, you could receive a no-show’s seat.  The second show will begin at 10:30 p.m.
